There is a very fine line between participatory democracy and decisional paralysis. Bruce Amundson, M.D.

"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one insists on trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." GBShaw in The Revolutionist's Handbook

Of course the credit for all the progress goes to the next generation who a) translates what the unreasonable man said, and b) actualized all that the visionaries were prevented from doing.

The Cradle to Grave Approach   Notify the admissions committee, we have an early admission for the medical school class of 2021. As you all know I have beaten you over the head with the cradle to grave approach for producing more rural physicians by impacting on students of all levels, residents, practitioners, etc. I think I can now lay a claim to the earliest intervention to graduate a rural doctor. At 6 AM this morning, I delivered Logan Christopher Kohl, son of Sean, grandson of Randy, rural physician for Albion for years. Considering that Randy was a rural doc, and his two sons are committed that way, I can lay claim to truly starting out a rural doc from the cradle.     RCB      Crime wave hits rural town, poetry, Life magazine on Country Doc

People should be able to recreate but not all people should be able to procreate. by Gary Smith, M.D., one of our most productive residents, personally and professionally. I like this coming from him better than from media guru Ted Turner, who has at least 4 children by different wives and attempts to prevent others from having the same privileges he enjoyed.
