Promoting Student Interest in Family Practice: Please pass this message on to any and all residency faculty with whom you have contact
Working with Deborah McPherson, MD of the AAFP, we are planning two special sessions at the 2001 STFM:NE Region meeting in Mystic, CT (go to www.fmec.net for more information) We will hold a meeting for the FMIG faculty advisor and a student leader from each medical school in our region. This will involve a special breakout session during Saturday afternoon which will be run by Dr.McPherson and Mr. Fetter. Participation will be restricted to the invited parties who will meet for the purpose of planning activities that will support student interest in Family Practice at each school.
A second meeting will be held between FMIG faculty advisors and representatives of residency programs for the purpose of exploring ideas regarding how to work together. Residency faculty who work closely with students will be invited to attend.
